Description
A Tour at our Magouemon Tea Farm
How about a cup of “Honzu-Matcha”, real and rare, which you’ve never tasted like?
Matcha, becoming popular in the world
Experience with Matcha as a kind of green tea, by visiting our farm + factory
-Max: Parties of 5
-Duration: 150 Min. (From 9:30 ~) / Party of 1 or 5 (max.) (an English-speaking interpreter attending / reservation required.)
1. Farm tour (in some areas for hand-picking “Tencha”
“We’ll show the visitors our Tencha farms which is traditional handpicked area. The tea trees there grow and are (cut and) shaped naturally. In Shizuoka or in Kagoshima, we can find lines of tea trees which are machine cut and have the crescent-shape. So our traditional and natural method is quite rare.
Season by season our farm can show us their different scenery.
During the walk among the tea trees, we’ll explain our visitors the background of Matcha production, for example, why our farm is located here, how the location can make our Matcha different from others and how the trees can grow etc..
Because of the beautiful green color and calm atmosphere in our farm, our visitors can feel relaxed during their stay.”
2. Factory tour (at our factory for “Tencha”)
“There are only a few of factories for making “Tencha” in Japan.
Our factory is one of them and it’s operated only in May, just for a month.
During the operation, it’s so laud and hot in the factory, but in off-season, it’s quiet and suitable for explaining about the production process in detail.
But in on-season, it’s so noisy in our factory, but everybody can “feel” the process in live and enjoy the fine and fresh flavor of tea.”
3. Drinking & Enjoying Our Specialty “Honzu-Matcha” Tea
Then, we’ll serve every participant a cup of our specialty Matcha “Honzu-Matcha” with a piece of Japanese sweets (Wagashi). The “Honzu-Matcha” is so rare in the market, so that only small numbers of professional people can deal with. Maybe we are the only one farm in Japan which serves this “Honzu-Matcha” to “normal” customers.
“Our “Honzu Matcha” has its bright green color and fine & noble flavor. It tastes so impressive that we can recommend everyone to try our Matcha once for your experience. During the events our staffs will make and serve cups of Matcha to you, but in very casual way, not as Sado (Tea ceremony) style. Your kind understanding would be therefore highly appreciated.
During this “Tea-Time”, we’ll tell you about the history and effect of Matcha, as well as how to make a cup of “tasty” Matcha easily.”
